Catalog Alert – Smith & Hawken

Today we are starting a new feature called “Catalog Alert!” where we’ll feature some of the most interesting Christmas and Holiday Gift catalogs we’ve been receiving in the good ol’mail.

 Smith & Hawkins Holidays 2006

So for our first catalog I’d like to highlight the Smith & Hawken Holiday 2006 catalog I received yesterday. If you’re not familiar with Smith & Hawken, they are an upscale home and garden retailer. With stores across the country. They are also have great catalogs, supported by their website.

I’m lucky enough to have 2 stores in my area and stop by whenever I’m in the area. They also have great sales and if you time it right you can get some great bargains!

Heirloom Ornament Tree

One of the things I wanted to feature was this Heirloom Ornament Tree.

With the spare elegance of a bare winter tree, our handcrafted stand displays your favorite ornaments, garlands and ribbons in their full glory. Six rustic, hand-formed iron branches safely support treasured ornaments and light strings

Another personal favorite is their Flowering Month subscription – where you get a new plant each month for 3,6, or 12 months. The subscription includes…

January Spring Bulbs
February Jasmine Wreath
March Lily of the Valley
April Freesia
May Lace cap Hydrangea
June Lavender Bush
July Calla Lilies
August Rose
September Hibiscus
October Calandiva
November Azalea
December Zygocactus

Wish this was in my budget!

Blue Birdhouse

And who doesn’t need another birdhouse? This blue porcelain birdhouse seems like a really nice gift for those gardeners and birders on your list. Wonder if birds would actually visit this house?

snowglobeAnd I thought this limited edition Snow Globe would be a nice gift as well.

Handcrafted in Austria, each globe contains a tiny replica of our signature Giverny® bench nestled against an evergreen decked in holiday candles. Every globe in the limited series of 2,006 is numbered, dated, and signed by Erwin Perzy III (grandson of the founder of Perzy Snow Globes, who created the world’s first snow globe).

This might be something to pickup at that after Christmas sale! :)
