Its Summertime Summertime Sum Sum Summertime
Thursday, June 21st, 2007
In the summertime when the weather is hot
You can stretch right up and touch the sky
When the weather’s fine
You got women, you got women on your mind
Summer arrives today at 2:06PM EDT.
(And its the first day of Winter in the Southern Hemisphere!)
If her daddy’s rich take her out for a meal
If her daddy’s poor just do what you feel
Speed along the lane
Do a ton or a ton an’ twenty-five
When the sun goes down
You can make it, make it good in a lay-by

Juneteenth
Celebrating the anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation.
“Juneteenth” comes from the words “June” and “19th”, which according to southern folklore, is when the slaves of Texas first learned of their freedom. Though freed in 1863, the slaves did not learn of their freedom until the arrival of the Union soldiers on June 19th, 1865, Â 2 1/2 years after the proclamation was first issued.
