Christmas in New York: Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting
11292006rc.jpgYou don’t have to be a New Yorker to enjoy the annual lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree tonight.

While the holiday shoppers have be out in droves and the city is already dressed up in its holiday best, its always the lighting of the tree that officially makes it “Christmas Time in the City!”

So watch tonight on NBC. And if you’re lucky enough to live in the NYC area you can catch the pre-show at 7PM and then the national broadcast at 8PM. Thats 2 whole hours of Holiday Goodness!!

A Charlie Brown Christmas – Tonights The Night

A Charlie Brown Christmas
While its not really a holiday, it is a cause for celebration.  For us “Charlie Browniacs” tonights broadcast is a holiday must see.

Featuring the whole Peanuts crew, including Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Sally, and Snoopy, of all the animated Christmas TV shows this one is the best.

I’ve been watching this Christmas classic every year! (Boy am I old!) And with Charles Schulz’s birthday yesterday – November 26th - it’s kind of poetic that “A Charlie Brown Christmas” will be broadcast tonight (Nov. 27) at 8pm on ABC. Enjoy! :)

11262-006cb.jpgCharles Schulz (cartoonist-Peanuts)
One of America’s most influential cartoonists, the late Charles Schulz is most famous for his comic strip “Peanuts” and its beloved characters including Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Pig Pen and of course Snoopy.

Along with the comic strip Schulz also created 2 of the best television holiday specials ever – “A Charlie Brown Christmas ” and “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown”. In fact ” A Charlie Brown Christmas” will be shown this Tuesday Nov. 27, at 8pm/ET on ABC.

Today is a special day for us “Charlie Browniacs” and join us as we celebrate with a little music, specifically what has become the signature tune of the Peanuts TV specials – “Linus and Lucy.” Here is a nice interpretation of the tune by the group The Divine Comedy. I found this on Youtube. Enjoy.
