Countdown to US Independence Day 2008 – Top 10 National Parks – Grand Teton National Park

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

One of America’s greatest treasures is its National Park system. Today there are nearly 400 national parks in every state in the Union except Delaware.

So join us as we continue our countdown to Independence Day 2008 with a look at our top ten national parks. Why not visit one of them this 4th of July to truly experience America?

Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
Located in northwestern Wyoming, Grand Teton National Park is best known for its jagged mountains that rise up out of the pristine glacial lakes. This breathtaking scenery is home to numerous wild animals, including moose, black and grizzly bears, elk, bald eagles, gray wolves, coyotes and bison.

If you’re making a July 4th trip, plant to enjoy backcountry camping, trail hiking, biking, bird watching, boating, fishing or horseback riding. Summer weather is typically in the high 70s and 80s, with cooler nights in the 40s. Afternoon rain showers are common.

Entrance Fees: $25 per private car, good for one week.

For more information: Visit www.nps.gov/grte or call Visitor Information at (307) 739-3300.

07012007.jpgSecond Half of the New Year Day
OK. Its been six months since you’ve made your New Years resolutions. How have you done? Lose weight yet? Me neither. :(

How about that promotion you wanted? That new job? That new love? Ha!

Did you stop Smoking? Gambling? Boozing? Floozing? (boy – you must’ve been a hell of a lot of fun!)

Well its not too late to give it another try. The year’s only 1/2 over, and ever the optimist, there’s still time to kick yourself in the ass and get back in line. Just remember…

Today is the first day of the rest of your life*

*Sad. So sad.
