Eid-Al-Fitr / Eid ul-Fitr / EID (Celebrating the Fast – Islamic)
Almost two billion Muslims around the world celebrate Eid ul-Fitr (eed al-fitter), the three-day festival commonly known as “Eid.” “Eid ul-Fitr” literally means the feast of the breaking/to break the fast. The holiday marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting and is a culmination of the month-long struggle towards a higher spiritual state.

Its October 2008 (and I feel fine)

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

Welcome October. With its cool days and even cooler nights. With the trees beginning their change into robes of red, yellow and gold. And with one of the best holidays of the year – Halloween!

And we’ve got all month to get ready for tricks and treats, jack o’lanterns, and those sweet, sweet bags of Halloween candy. Milky Ways, Toostie Rolls, and Candy Corn anyone? (yes I really do like candy corn!)

October, the 10th month of the year, was originally the eight month of the year (“octo” means eight).*

Days: 31
Birthstone: Opal
Flower: Calendula
Season: Fall
Horoscope: Libra, Scorpio

And you know, any month that features “Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” has got to great!

Welcome October. My favorite month of the whole year!
