April 06 : 06 days till Easter

Did you know that Palm Sunday is also known as Passion Sunday in many Orthodox churches?

Palm Sunday celebrates the triumphant entry of Jesus in Jerusalem, commemorated in many churches by processionals of parishioners who hold palm leaves tied to crosses. The Orthodox church view this as a solemn day of reflection since it portents Jesus’ death just five days later. The term passion is used in Christian parlance to refer to the suffering of Jesus on the Cross.

Easter is the time of springtime festivals, a time to welcome back the Tulips, the Crocuses and the Daffodils. A time for Christians to celebrate the life, death and resurrection of Christ. And a time of chocolate bunnies, marshmallow chicks, and colored eggs!

So join our Easter festivities as we present a new “Did You Know?” fact each day as we countdown to Easter on April 12th!
