Veep Day
Commemorates the presidential succession provisions in the US constitution. On this day in 1974 Vice President Gerald Ford became the President upon the resignation of Richard Nixon.

I know Joe Biden is now our Vice President. But he’s not as much fun to “kick around” as Cheney was!

So for one last time – “Here’s Dick!”

“Where the f… does (Bush) get his advice?” … “I mean, Christ – was there ever a bigger lying sack of crap than Dick Cheney?”*

Moment of Silence (Japan)
Japan will be observing the 64th anniversary of the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima (Aug. 06) and Nagasaki (Aug. 09) with a memorial observance at the Peace Memorial Park.
