Pledge of Allegiance Day
On this day in 1945, the U.S. Congress recognized the Pledge of Allegiance and urged its recitation in American schools.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God*, indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for all.
