(January 18) Today we're celebrating . . . Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Each year on the third Monday of January we celebrate the birth, the life and the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
“I have a dream…
I have a dream that one day little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers
I have a dream today”
It is a time for the nation to remember the injustices that Dr. King fought. A time to remember his fight for the freedom, equality, and dignity of all races and peoples. A time to remember the message of change through nonviolence.
And I don’t think there is any more fitting testament to King’s legacy than the election of President Barack Obama. “I have a dream” indeed!
So visit our celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. for more on the man and the holiday. And check out the Video and Text of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” Speech. In its entirety.

Honor to the memory of a man that made sacrifices. His answering God’s call made such a wonderful difference in the lives of many. The children at LATMA Christian Academy performed the play “Letter from A Birmingham Jail” by Covert. They did a remarkable job! We participated in a march sponsored by the Charmettes in Madison County Florida. The Unity, the Speaker, Pastor Spencer and the fellowship of racially diverse members of the community made a GREAT day! I know Dr. King would be happy.
