Did You Know?
Facts, Figures &
Folklore About Easter

March 27 : 08 days till Easter

Did you know that Ash Wednesday gets its name from the practice of wearing ashes (in the sign of a cross) on the forehead as a sign of repentance?

The movable holiday, which falls anytime between February 4 and March 10, is the first day of the Lenten Period. The ashes are saved from the burning of the previous year’s Palm Sunday palm branches.

Easter is the time of springtime festivals, a time to welcome back the Tulips, Crocuses and Daffodils. A time for Christians to celebrate the life, death and resurrection of Christ. And a time of chocolate bunnies, marshmallow chicks, and colored eggs! Join our Easter festivities as we present a new “Did You Know?” fact each day and countdown to Easter on April 04th!

Kenny Chesney’s “Someone Else’s Hog”
and of course my personal favorite “Too Much Month (At The End of The Money)” from Marty Stuart.
