(June 06) Today we're observing . . .  Anniversary – D-Day


Anniversary – D-Day (US)
On this day in 1944, the Allied forces landed on Normandy along the northern coast of France to open their long-awaited second front against the Germans. This massive operation, which involved more than 1.7 million troops from America alone, proved to be the turning point for the Allied victory in World War II.
