Did You Know?
Facts, Figures & Folklore
About America’s Independence

July 01 : 03 days to July 4th

Did you know that the original Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892 by Christian socialist, Francis Bellamy?

The original version did not include the words “under G-d”. They were added in the 1950s after the Knights of Columbus successfully campaigned to Congress. Bellamy’s granddaughter said he would have resented the change.

We’ll be presenting a new “Did You Know?” fact each day as we countdown to Independence Day Day (07/04)! So stop by again tomorrow.

OK. Its been six months since you’ve made your New Years resolutions. How have you done? Lose weight yet? Me neither. :(

How about that promotion you wanted? That new job? That new love? Ha!

Did you stop Smoking? Gambling? Boozing? Floozing? (boy – you must’ve been a hell of a lot of fun!)

Well its not too late to give it another try. The year’s only 1/2 over, and ever the optimist, there’s still time to kick yourself in the butt and get back in line. Just remember…

Today is the first day of the rest of your life*

*Sad. So sad.
