(March 20) Today we’re celebrating . . . Won’t You Be My Neighbor Day
Sunday, March 20th, 2011It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won’t you be my neighbor?
Won’t You Be My Neighbor Day
Today we’re celebrating the birthday of one of our childhood icons – Mister Rogers!
And in honor of his birthday everyone is being asked to wear a sweater today. Cardigans are optional (but preferred!)
So let’s make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we’re together, we might as well say,
Would you be mine? Could you be mine?
Won’t you be my neighbor?
Won’t you please, won’t you please,
Please won’t you be my neighbor?
Here is a video from Mr. McFeely talking about wearing a sweater in honor of Mister Rogers.

Purim (began yesterday at sundown)
The most festive of Jewish holidays, a time of prizes, noisemakers, costumes and treats. The Festival of Purim commemorates a major victory over oppression and is recounted in the Megillah, the scroll of the story of Esther.
Visit our Purim celebration Purim on the Net. We’ve got stories of Queen Esther, King Ahasuerus, Mordechai, and Haman, we’ve got graggers to spin, masks to print and color, costumes to make, and Hamantashan to bake! We hope you find something you like!
