June 12 : 07 days till Father’s Day
Did you know that Americans aren’t the only ones to celebrate their dads?
In the United States and over 50 other countries around the world, Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June. The first Sunday in June is when Lithuanian dads are honored; and on the second Sunday (Today!), dads in Austria and Belgium have their special day.
Father’s Day is a day of commemoration and celebration of Dad. It is a day to not only honor your father, but all men who have acted as a father figure in your life – whether as Stepfathers, Uncles, Grandfathers, or “Big Brothers.” So join our Father’s Day festivities as we present a new “Did You Know?” fact each day as we countdown to Father’s Day on Sunday June 19th!
Crowded Nest Awareness Day
Remember when the kids went away for college and then moved on with their lives, never to return again? Well not any more!
And with the economic realities of life these days, more and more of our big “little ones” are returning to the “empty nest.” And sometimes with a significant other and their own “little ones” too! Oy!
So today’s the day to bring awareness as well as to offer support for those suffering parents.
