Did you know that the terms Arab and Muslim are not synonymous?

Arab” refers to people who share a linguistic, cultural, ethnic and historic heritage from the Arabian Peninsula.

The term “Muslim” refers to those individuals who are adherents to the Islamic faith. Not all Arabs are Muslim, nor are all Muslims Arab.

Observed by more than one billion Muslims around the world, the month of Ramadan is a time for spiritual purification achieved through fasting, self-sacrifice and prayers. We’ll be presenting a new “Did You Know?” fact each day as we countdown to Ramadan!*

*Please Note: According to Fiqh Council of North America (FCNA) the first day of fasting in North America would be Monday, August 1, 2011. Elsewhere depends where you live.

It’s Summertime! And whats one of the favorite foods of summer? Why Hot Dogs of course! So today why not “spice up” your life a bit by “spicing up” that hot dog with a little chili? Hmmmm Hmmmm Good!
